“Alyson”

If most are a hop, you are a skip

If the brave are a jump, you are a dive.

When friends say your name it rolls off their tongues with a wondrous hiss

And the world around you crackles and pops.

That noise becomes the wind racing downstream–

Flirting with the waves and the clouds and the trees,

Drawing more and more company to the fireside where you sit, smile, and laugh.
